Course Title: Premiere Pro Training
Summary: Bring Your Own Laptop offers Adobe Premiere Pro CC training at their facility in Dublin, or anywhere in Ireland – your place or theirs. They’ll train you on your computer or theirs too, making your more comfortable by using the machine you’re used to. Or they’ll provide a Mac or a PC if you need one.
Instructor Daniel Scott is an Adobe certified video specialist who works with most Adobe titles and understands how to move projects and assets through different applications as part of a job. Dan can show you how to make Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro all work together – then he can show you how to integrate the results into a website or app.
What really sets Bring Your Own Laptop’s Premiere Pro training apart from most others is that your course is easily customised so you, or your staff, get training based around what they actually need to know in order to do the work they do every day. This is great considering the changing requirements between different platforms. The specific needs for web presentation may be more important to you than meeting broadcast standards for television.
You decide what you need, and you can get training centred around that outcome
You get printed notes, and email tech support for 12 months, and the course listed here is a great foundation for anyone starting out with Adobe Premiere Pro – including those who are self-taught and need to fill in the blanks on things they might have missed, or are doing the hard way.
Dates are flexible, all the training is on demand for 1 to 9 people.
Course Title: Adobe Premiere Pro CC (Intro)
Summary: Big Rock Designs has a course suitable for new editors, or people looking to learn the new features of Premiere Pro CC. Guided by an Adobe Certified Expert, you’ll get a thorough overview of the tool pallet and workflow. Starting with a basic edit, the course moves you through fine tuning the edits, adding graphics and titles, the audio mix, visual effects and then on through the many output options.
Even though it’s a ‘start from the beginning course’ the skills you’ll get cover the customisation of your workspace and setting the various project preferences that go into making your experience of Premiere Pro an efficient one.
The course description reads like the table of contents from Premiere Pro Classroom in a Book – it’s very thorough, though remember it’s only a 2-day course and it can take much longer to master Premiere Pro – this is an introductory training course.
Big Rock Designs offers a lot of post course support including 12 months of email and telephone help, video support via YouTube and even live support with Teamviewer.
There is no mention of any Adobe certification for attendees, but the course outline is very comprehensive and a great option for anyone new to, and in need of training, Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
Course dates are available on request via Big Rock Designs contact page.
Course Title: Essentials in Premiere Pro 2 day
Summary: Big Wave Media Training offer 2 levels of Adobe Premier Pro training in Ireland, in 4 different locations no less. The ‘Essentials’ Premier Pro course is aimed at beginners, though a working knowledge of your computer is assumed.
You’ll be learning the basics of Premier Pro’s many video editing tools and solutions, and it’s a fair bet that a lot of the course is derived from the Adobe Premier Pro Classroom in a Book in order for trainees to qualify for an Adobe Certificate of Completion.
You’ll also get 12 months of email support after the course, for free, and you can retake the class if you find you need to. Again, for free.
The course content is a broad overview of Premier Pro, the first three lessons listed give you the grand tour and help you know how to set up your workspace, manage project settings, deal with the myriad of options and preferences and of course, manage your media.
Then it’s off to the things you need to know the most – creating edits, straight cuts or transitions, and titles (and that’s at least half of what you’ll be using Premier Pro for years after) and it’s good to see the important things dealt with early in the course. Though the web page does say ‘may be covered’ we’ll assume you’ll do those early in the training.
The rest of what’s offered in the ‘essentials’ Premier Pro training is a list of deeper skills working with basic effects, exporting assets (round tripping other adobe titles is part of using Premier Pro) and making DVD’s with Premiere and Adobe Encore.
You can bundle Big Waves’ ‘Essential’ Premier course with a ‘Pro Skills’ course also offered, and bundling will give you a discount.
Course Title: Pro Skills in Premiere Pro 3 day
Summary: Pro Skills in Premiere Pro (a three-day training course) is offered by Big Wave Media Training in their Dublin facility.
The ‘Essentials’ and ‘Pro Skills’ Premier Pro training can be taken together, for a discount, or separately. The website lists both courses on the same page with the same description of course content, so if you are an experienced Adobe Premiere Pro user who wants to master new or advanced skills, you might be best to check directly with Big Wave Media Training as to what specifics are on offer.
The course offers an Adobe Certificate of Completion, the usual free email tech support, free for 12 months, and the offer of retaking the training if you didn’t take it all in the first time.
There are no training dates listed on the site, only ‘coming soon’ so you’ll have to call to find out the next time the course is running.

Course Title: Premiere Pro 101
– Intro to Premiere Pro CC
Summary: Hosted by Filmbase, and overseen by The Arts Council, this is another course run by the prolific Keith Baily, who runs several Adobe courses at a number of locations around Ireland.
This particular course is for absolute beginners and offers the student a chance to learn all the main features of Premier Pro CC – from capturing media, managing files and managing a project to adding video effects, creating titles and mixing audio.
There is also a mention of creating DVDs for your final output – which is a task that needs good guidance for the noobie.
Each student will also be given a copy of the ‘official Adobe Premier Pro course manual’ (possible Adobe Premier Pro Classroom in a Book which most training programs run out of) and an Adobe certificate of completion.
Your tutor, Keith Bailey, is a very experienced teacher and has a great grasp on how to use a suite of Adobe products together to create media for many platforms.
Keith also offers the tips and tricks to make your editing more efficient.
If the times or locations offered don’t suit you, Keith offers his training at a number of venues around Ireland – check this website for other listings.
Course Title: After Effects with Keith Bailey
Summary: Keith Bailey teaches Adobe products around Ireland at a variety of locations. This particular offering is held at the Galway Film Centre and is designed for beginners seeking a well-rounded overview to Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
Keith suggests this is a good course for Apple Final Cut or Avid editors looking to add Premiere Pro to their skillset.
The course also delves into the world of round tripping assets and projects within a number of Adobe products including Photoshop and After Effects.
As Keith is a working professional in broadcast television, you’ll gain from the real world experience of using Premiere Pro in a professional environment.
The course outline listed here covers all the essentials from inputting your media to outputting the correct format for your platform.
Check the website or contact the Galway Film Centre for dates and times when the course runs next.
Course Title: Adobe Premiere Training Course
Summary: Despite the website being very short of details, Mullan Training are a well-established provider of IT and media training, and they have several Adobe products on their training roster.
This is an introductory course for Adobe Premier Pro CC and assumes no previous knowledge of Premiere Pro, but you do need to know your way around windows on a PC.
The course is project based as you work your way through the essentials of Premier Pro, gaining hands on experience doing basic editing, creating titles, importing and exporting media. The course content mentions controlling a DV device, including a capture list, but it’s a technology that’s long gone out of favour, so perhaps the course (or merely the description) is need of an upgrade itself.
Other subjects listed are the usual tour of the workflow and tools, and of course customising your work area and project settings (something no introductory course should be without).
There is no mention of Adobe Certification for the instructors or the resulting students – but on the plus side, the course may be better than merely a romp through the pages of Adobe Classroom in a Book like so many courses.
If you book with friends or colleagues, you get a discount based on how many delegates are buying tickets together.
Course Title: Adobe After Effects Introduction
Summary: The Knowledge Academy, based outside of London, teaches IT, business management, health and safety, and also offers Adobe Premiere Pro training.
There is very little detail on their website considering it’s massively more expensive than any other course listed in Ireland for Premiere Pro training. There are no prerequisites for the course, and it’s designed for people ‘with an interest in Premiere Pro CC.’ Beginners are also recommended elsewhere on the page.
The course outline is the usual copy and paste chapter listings apparently sampled from Adobe Premiere Pro Classroom in a Book – there is the promised coverage of setting up a project, the essentials of video editing and a few other vague suggestions of what Premiere Pro is capable of, but for any real information on what is taught, you’ll probably have to contact the provider directly.
You get a ‘delegate pack’ with notes, exercises and a ‘manual’ though no explanation if that’s a reference to ‘Classroom in a Book’ or the actual PDF operating instructions bundled free with Premiere Pro.
You also get an experienced instructor and refreshments, and the training locations are suggested to be quite luxurious.
